Bio

Colette is a graduate of Sutherland-Chan School in Toronto and a member in good standing of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. She has been in practise since January 2016.

Colette focuses on relieving pain and discomfort by taking the time to assess your needs, goals and specific concerns. Her clinical focus is head/neck and jaw pain, with a special interest in the use of neuro-physiological techniques and a patient-driven approach to treatment. She believes in utilizing a range of modalities including:

  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage
  • Deep Tissue Massage
  • Myo-fascial release techniques
  • Remedial Exercise prescription
  • Hot Stone Therapy
Her additional training includes the Dr. Vodder Manual Lymphatic Drainage method, myo-fascial release for neck, voice and swallowing disorders, TMJ dysfunctions, pre- and post-natal treatment, pelvic health issues and hot stone massage.

The foundation of her practise is based on three pillars: Patient Values; Communication; and Available Evidence. Your beliefs, history, view points and needs are all extremely important. Colette believes in taking the time to learn about you and invites you to provide her with as much information as you feel comfortable to give you the best possible massage treatment that's right for you.

Communication, both verbal and non-verbal, are an essential component of health care and informed consent. In order to meet your needs and comfort level during treatment, Colette will ensure that communication pathways are clear and open. Should you have any specific concerns or communication preferences, those will be reviewed prior to treatment.

You can expect Colette to provide you with the most up-to-date information regarding best practises and evidence in massage therapy. She does her best to stay informed via research literature, continuing education and peer-led discussion.  In addition to keeping updated on manual therapy research, Colette incorporates a trauma-informed lens into her practise, and highly values in an inter-disciplinary approach to health-care.
